Meet Ms. Scherzer

My name is Libby Scherzer and I have been teaching Kindergarten at Collins Elementary in Houghton Lake, MI since 2016. At Collins I have taken on the roles of Kindergarten Grade Level Chair, a member of the Student Assistance Team, a member of the Building Turnaround Network, and an After School STEAM Program teacher in our building which keeps me very busy but I love every second of it. 

 

I graduated from Michigan State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education (Go Green!). My teaching major was Language Arts and I also have my Child Development Endorsement. I'm currently a graduate student in Michigan State University's Master of Arts in Education program, and will graduate in the summer of 2018. 

I am currently living in Houghton Lake with my boyfriend Spencer and our golden retriever, Steven. I have lived in many different areas of Michigan but I am so excited to be living a little further “up north”!

In my time away from teaching, I enjoy traveling as well as spending time with my family and friends. I love to do anything outside and spend the majority of my summers camping, hiking, fishing, and exploring. Feel free to look through my photo gallery to take a peek into my life.
